Perla Mendoza for Seal Beach City Council
Perla Mendoza

For more than a decade, Seal Beach has been my home and my community. Now I am running for City Council to protect what makes it special for generations to come.

Meet Perla Mendoza

Perla Mendoza speaking alongside Seal Beach Police Department leadership

Perla Mendoza is a Seal Beach community leader, nonprofit CEO, and public servant running for Seal Beach City Council District 1. Over a decade ago, she chose Seal Beach as her home and has spent the years since deeply invested in this community.

As the founder and CEO of Project Eli, Perla has built partnerships with families, law enforcement, public agencies, and elected leaders to make a difference in people's lives. She serves as a board member of the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Community Action Partnership of Orange County, and is an active volunteer with the Seal Beach Lions Club. She is running to be an accessible, accountable voice for Old Town and Surfside.

Where Perla Stands

Prioritize Public Safety

Stand with the Seal Beach Police Department, reduce homelessness on our streets, and ensure our beach and neighborhoods remain safe for residents, families, and visitors.

Protect Our Coastline

Advocate for long-term beach preservation and sand replenishment, and partner with county, state, and federal agencies to address the coastal erosion crisis threatening our beaches and coastline.

Fortify Main Street

Work with the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce to attract retail and dining that fits our community, cut red tape for new businesses, fill vacant storefronts, and make it easier for local businesses to succeed and thrive.

Practice Fiscal Responsibility

Seal Beach faces a structural deficit and residents have already been asked twice to approve sales tax increases. Perla will focus on growing the revenue base, pursuing state and federal grants, and holding the line on spending that is not backed by a sustainable funding source.

Be Accessible and Accountable

District 1 deserves a councilmember who answers the phone, shows up at community events, and welcomes conversations about the issues residents care about most. Perla will be present, engaged, and always put the community first.
